The Cretan Pottery Company is a sub-section of Liquid Gold Products which focusses exclusively on traditional Cretan Ceramics made by one of the best potters in Greece.
Cretans have been making ceramics for more than 12,000 years. The methods used are virtually unchanged, and all our pots are made by hand, using manually turned wheels, and local clay. Cretan ceramics have always had functional as well as decorative uses. They have been used for storage of olive oil, wine, honey, olives, dried foods, and for decoration - including the MInoan Palace at Knossos, where pithari identical in form to those made by our potters have been excavated. The pots are frost-proof down to -18C. This results from the quality of the clay, the method of production, Our pots are displayed in some of the most beautiful gardens in Britain.
