Hand made Cretan terracotta pots from a master potter in Crete. Cretans have been making ceramics for more than 12,000 years. The methods used are virtually unchanged, made by hand, using manually turned wheels, and local clay. Cretan ceramics have functional as well as decorative uses: storage of olive oil, wine, honey, olives, dried foods, and for decoration - including the MInoan Palace at Knossos. The pots are frost-proof down to -18C.
