One of our favourite Greek dry red wines. Organic and Biodynamic made by the Thymiopoulos winery

A gorgeously fragrant, silky, powerful ripe fruit red, with great ageing potential, produced by the youngest star of Greek wines, Apostolos Thymiopoulos. Best served cellar cool. This wine will last and evolve beautifully over many years due to the high tannin & high acidity of the indigenous Xynomavro grape and the terrain on which it is grown. Apostolos Thymiopoulos' modern approach to the xynomavro grape native to northern Greece is based on his beautifully tended, organically cultivated vines. In the cellar he brings out the natural fragrance of the grape, with its hints of pinot noir and nebbiolo, and a silky-textured palate. A high tannin wine of high acidity which will last well. Dominant Grape Xynomavro (which means 'sour black'). Drink Now to 2021. Alcohol Level 13.0%
Style Medium Bodied Closure type Cork
